Hi, I'm Yolanda Wade, and I'm delighted to have you visit my page! Let me share a bit about myself and my journey.
My journey in the world of counselling and psychotherapy began with a diverse path that led me to where I am today. I've been working in local authorities and community services for several years with a particular focus on Special Educational Needs (SEN). My experience spans both ends of the spectrum, from working in schools to advocating for families navigating the complexities of EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans) and supporting appeals.
In addition to my work in the field of SEN, I've also had the privilege of working in a hospice, helping individuals and families cope with the profound challenges of bereavement and loss. This experience has deepened my understanding of grief and the importance of offering support during such difficult times.
My journey has taken me through the realms of medical science, law, and local authority work, ultimately leading me to the heart of my passion – working with children and families. I've come to recognise the significance of addressing developmental trauma holistically, looking beyond just education to consider the broader needs of children and their families.
Having migrated to the UK as a result of a volcanic crisis, I understand the unique challenges faced by families that are displaced and the process of working through loss. I'm committed to providing a compassionate, empathetic, and supportive space where individuals and families can find the guidance they need to navigate life's challenges and rediscover hope.
